Water Year 2027 Allocation Unchanged, Providing Stability for Growers
Allocations
August 13, 2026

The East Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) Board of Directors approved the groundwater allocation for Water Year 2027, keeping the allocation unchanged from the previous year.

The decision follows recommendations from the GSA’s committees, staff, and technical consultants. The approval at the July board meeting  provides growers with advance notice before the next allocation year begins on October 1, 2026.

Keeping the allocation the same reflects the GSA’s steady progress toward sustainable groundwater management, and  provides a predictable path forward for groundwater users.

For growers, that consistency means greater confidence when planning for the upcoming water year. Landowners and agricultural operations are encouraged to make informed decisions before the season begins.
