The Flying Dragon Multibenefit Groundwater Recharge Project is entering its final stages, with construction now approximately 95% complete. Crews have finished most of the earthwork, and in-stream improvements are expected to wrap up by the end of August, bringing the project one step closer to capturing surface water for groundwater recharge.

The project is made possible through a California Department of Conservation Multibenefit Land Repurposing Program (MLRP) grant, administered by Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District in partnership with Sequoia Riverlands Trust, the lead on the habitat restoration and public access components of the project. Together, these partnerships are transforming the site into a project that provides multiple benefits for groundwater, wildlife, and the community.
