East Kaweah GSA, together with Mid-Kaweah and Greater Kaweah GSAs, are working with LandIQ to bring a new tool to growers allowing landowners to see evapotranspiration (ET) readings on a 48-hour basis.

Prior to this new tool, past ET readings were only available every 60 days. This 60-day turnaround time has made it difficult for growers to course-correct and catch up if their consumption was too high.

This significant improvement will help growers pivot when necessary to make better decisions for their farming operations by understanding their real-time ET, critical data for grower decision-making in relation to groundwater allocations.

The interface allows users to set targets, track daily water use against historical crop-type averages, and download their data for planning or reporting. To use the tool, landowners will log in to a portal, claim their fields, enter cropping information, and set water use goals. While the portal is not yet available, the GSA has plans for it to function alongside the Water Dashboard.
