The East Kaweah GSA’s Board of Directors has approved the purchase of 2,000 acre-feet of surface water. By acquiring this surface water, the East Kaweah GSA can expand water availability to growers who are working to balance their irrigation needs under groundwater pumping restrictions (allocations).Beyond the immediate benefits, the East Kaweah GSA hopes this transaction will continue to build rapport with the surface water entities within the GSA, paving the way for potential future water purchases to improve water reliability for our growers.
