At the October 27, 2025, board meeting, the Board of Directors reviewed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 proposed budget, which will be voted on for approval at a hearing on December 5, 2025. At the December 5 hearing, stakeholders will have the opportunity to weigh in on the budget.

In 2024 East Kaweah GSA developed a revised Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) that addresses deficiencies to satisfy both the State Water Resources Control Board’s and the Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) requirements, overseen by technical consultants and staff. Since the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) is unfunded, the GSA shoulders the cost of these efforts and is still working to recover financially from the expenses of GSP revisions.

East Kaweah GSA expects and has planned for continued increased expenses due to the unknowns of a transition back to DWR.
