East Kaweah GSA Board approves 33% ET credit for olives
Allocations
November 6, 2023

This credit will apply to olive growers’ accounts retroactively for AY 2022, and AY 2023. The credit will remain in AY 2024 while technical studies are performed. EKGSA expects to have refined ET data accuracy for olives in AY 2025.

At the October 23, 2023 board meeting, the East Kaweah GSA Board of Directors approved the recommendation to adjust Evapotranspiration (ET) data for olives after the agency, in partnership with Land IQ, diligently studied ET readings for olive growers within East Kaweah GSA. After careful consideration, the Technical Advisory Committee recommended adding a 33% ET credit for olives.

The East Kaweah GSA is committed to maintaining accurate ET reporting for all crops and has worked to promptly fix issues as they arise to ensure our landowners are provided with an accurate accounting of water use and associated billing. The adjustments to ET have been made in the Water Dashboard, and East Kaweah GSA advises all olive growers to review their Water Dashboard accounts and contact Scott Maskell at (559) 697-6095 for any questions.
