Create your Water Dashboard account before October 20th

The East Kaweah GSA’s billing period for Allocation Year 2022 (October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022) started August 21, 2023 and ends October 20, 2023. To streamline the billing process, the East Kaweah encourages all landowners who have not created a Water Dashboard account to do so now.

It is in landowners’ best interest to create their account because within the Water Dashboard, landowners can strategically order their surface water and groundwater use to mitigate groundwater overdraft penalties. Doing this can potentially lower landowners’ bills. Since evapotranspiration data does not differentiate between surface water, rainfall, or groundwater, landowners can make that distinction, potentially reducing penalty pumping fees.

Arranging order of use must be done within the Water Dashboard. If you have not yet created your Water Dashboard account, please do so here. Once you have created your account, you will not be able to claim your parcels on your own, because East Kaweah GSA grouped unclaimed parcels for billing purposes. Please contact East Kaweah GSA at 559-697-6095 so a staff member can assign your parcels to you in your water account. Once you create your account and have your parcels assigned, you may begin the order of use process using the Dashboard’s “Credit Manager”.

The Water Dashboard is a way to virtually view and manage your water use at the farm level. During the current billing period for Allocation Year 2022, the Water Dashboard can be used to rearrange order of water use with a new feature called the Credit Manager. East Kaweah GSA has created video tutorials on the Credit Manager that you can view here. The East Kaweah GSA is here to assist stakeholders during the billing period.

If you have any questions or a need assistance, please call 559-697-6095 or email groundwater@ekgsa.org to schedule an appointment. East Kaweah GSA staff will be glad to assist you.

What is the Water Dashboard?

The Water Dashboard is a tool shared among the Kaweah Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Agencies. It empowers landowners to strategically respond to the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) by delivering key water use insights at the farm level. It collects evapotranspiration (ETa) data from Land IQ, a data driven model that measures ETa from approximately 90 Land IQ, other field monitoring stations, and satellite imagery. The Water Dashboard uses ETa reporting to assign water use to each parcel to generate bills for groundwater allocation billing in the East Kaweah GSA. Groundwater allocations were set in place to correct groundwater overdraft in the Kaweah Subbasin, and are a part of working toward groundwater sustainability under SGMA.
