Allocation Year 2024 Invoicing Period Extended
Allocations
May 2, 2025

Growers have more time to extend or purchase credits.

Due to a coding error when closing out Water Dashboard accounts for invoicing, East Kaweah GSA is extending the Allocation Year 2024 invoicing period. The original deadline was set for April 15.

Landowners now have until May 16 to adjust their priority of use and purchase credits on the Credit Manager. East Kaweah GSA encourages all landowners to log into the Water Dashboard and review their statements before the deadline. Even if you’ve already submitted your final invoice, reviewing your account helps ensure all information is accurate.

Note that any remaining transfers in the Credit Manager must be submitted by May 16 to be applied to your Allocation Year 2024 invoice.

Final invoices will be mailed to all landowners on June 1, and payments are due by June 30.

Opportunity to Extend or Purchase Available Water Credits

With the invoicing period extended, growers now have an additional opportunity to pay to extend the life of unused Allocation Year 2022 and Allocation Year 2023 tier groundwater credits and to purchase mitigation (surface water) credits to increase total available supplies.

The following water credits are available on the Water Dashboard.

Growers are urged to take advantage of the following opportunities by May 16:

  • Extend the life of Allocation Year 2022 unused credits beyond their 2026 expiration date.

  • Extend the life of Allocation Year 2023 unused credits and pre-pay at a 50% discount compared to the cost at the time of use. This reduces the cost from $500 to $250 per acre-foot if you pre-pay now.

  • Purchase the Mitigation Tier (surface water credits) to avoid the $500 per acre-foot overdraft penalty and 1:1 loss of your AY 2025 supply if you exceed the 0.82 acre-foot per acre native yield but didn’t have the credits to do so.

Growers are encouraged to take advantage of these credit extensions and purchase opportunities. To purchase, login to the Water Dashboard and use the Credit Manager tool or contact the GSA at (559) 697-6095 or groundwater@ekgsa.org. For details on available credits and how to purchase them, read out post here.
