In partnership with East Kaweah, Mid-Kaweah, and Greater Kaweah GSAs, Land IQ is hosting webinars to help educate landowners on its new real-time ET reporting tool. Land IQ’s new tool allows growers to view near real-time evapotranspiration (ET) data specific to their fields.

To support growers in adopting the new tool, the Kaweah Subbasin GSAs are holding a series of webinars over the next several months. The sessions will walk landowners through the tool, how to use it effectively to support farming operations, and how to incorporate insights into water management and irrigation practices.

ET measures the amount of water a crop actually uses through evaporation and transpiration and is one of the most meaningful indicators for understanding water use in agricultural operations.

Understanding ET every 48 hours rather than every 60 days as currently reported on the Kaweah Water Dashboard can help growers make real-time decisions for their farms. Because ET is based on actual consumptive use and not just how much water is applied, it offers a more precise picture of how water is being used on the field. Accurate ET readings help growers avoid surprises and confidently plan irrigation strategies.
